The Substation, 2018-2019
A microsite and series of event flyers created for The Substation’s 2018–2019 programming theme, which examined urban transformation, the loss of heritage and state-driven changes to Singapore’s built environment. The microsite adopted a brutalist, anti-design approach inspired by Web 1.0 aesthetics, incorporating animated GIFs, layered graphics and an open chat box where visitors could leave messages. Its unruly visual language reflected the instability, disappearance and constant reinvention at the heart of the programme.
