A series of editorial key visuals created for Offstage, Esplanade’s online platform featuring stories and perspectives on the Singapore arts scene. Each visual uses collage and archival imagery to interpret the subject of its accompanying article. Reading Murakami explores the experience of encountering Haruki Murakami’s writing today. Created alongside the production The End of the World and Hard-Boiled Wonderland, the artwork centres on surreal female figures frequently found in Murakami’s fictional worlds, with a visual approach inspired by John Gall’s collage-based covers for the Vintage editions of his books.
